MRI and Stem Cell Therapy, Part II

This course offers a thorough examination of the role of MRI in tracking and evaluating the efficacy of stem cell treatments across various medical conditions. Participants will gain an understanding of the process of stem cell growth on musculoskeletal (MSK) systems when paired with MRI, as well as a quick review of its applications in Parkinson's Disease, spinal injuries, and cardiac conditions.

The course also addresses the current limitations of using MRI with stem cells and evaluates the cost-benefit analysis of these advanced techniques.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the mechanisms of stem cell growth, their role in musculoskeletal (MSK) applications, and their interactions with MRI imaging techniques.
  2. Evaluate the utilization of stem cells in clinical cases, including Parkinson's Disease, spinal injuries, and cardiac conditions, through the application of MRI tracking methodologies.
  3. Assess the efficacy of stem cell therapies by interpreting MRI findings and critically analyzing clinical outcomes.
  4. Identify and explain the current limitations and challenges associated with detecting and assessing stem cell activity using MRI technology.
