Flow Imaging: CSF Disorders

This lecture will cover sequences and parameters optimization, a new noninvasive technique using dynamic flow phase contrast for intracranial pressure and review case studies using CSF Flow for cases of hydrocephalus, Chiari, NPH, syrinx, and arachnoid cyst, among others.

Learning Objectives

  1. Review anatomy and pathology of the ventricular system.
  2. Analyze the application of CSF Flow pulse sequences and the potential artifacts associated with their use.
  3. Evaluate and optimize imaging parameters, including field of view (FOV), slice thickness, temporal resolution, and velocity encoding.
  4. Describe a new non-invasive technique for assessing intracranial pressure (ICP) using flow phase contrast imaging.
  5. Review and discuss case studies involving Chiari malformation, endovascular therapy (EVT), normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), intracranial pressure (ICP) management, and arachnoid cysts.
