Implants in MRI: How to Handle Them

This session will address the impact of implants in the MRI environment. It will cover the basics of MRI and implant labeling. A list of implants will be discussed and how to handle them. Addressing the risk assignment of scanning off-label will be discussed and a checklist of how to handle it will be introduced. Examples of situations will be discussed and ways to address them will be covered.

  2. Explain how to reduce SAR and spatial gradient risks. 
  3. Review situations when scanning off-label and how to handle them.
